Spoon Sports Honda Civic

The Honda Civic has become one of the most recognisable icons of Japanese performance culture, but its connection to Spoon Sports helped establish the Civic as far more than an everyday hatchback.

Spoon Sports became renowned for transforming lightweight Honda chassis into focused, high revving performance machines, with carefully developed engines, suspension, braking and aerodynamic upgrades. The result was a formula built around precision, balance and extracting maximum performance from Honda's naturally aspirated engines.

For fans of The Fast and the Furious, the Civic has an even more iconic connection. In one of the original film's most memorable scenes, Brian tells Dom that Hector is going to be running three Honda Civics with Spoon engines, along with T66 turbos, NOS and a MoTeC system. That throwaway line became one of the most famous pieces of dialogue in the entire franchise and helped introduce Spoon Sports and Japanese tuning culture to a huge mainstream audience.

This artwork captures a Spoon inspired Civic against the backdrop of Mount Fuji, with cherry blossoms, a star filled Japanese night sky and rain soaked roads creating a distinctly Japanese atmosphere. The blue and yellow Spoon Sports livery gives the car a classic motorsport feel, while the reflections and mountain scenery add depth to the artwork.

Printed on premium 200 gsm matte paper, the smooth, non reflective finish gives the artwork a refined feel while allowing the vivid blue and yellow livery, detailed graphics and atmospheric Japanese scenery to stand out.
